The Nolde Museum Seebüll is among the most important museums worldwide. It is run by the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation, a foundation under civil law. The foundation is a private institution and therefore receives no financial support from the state or federal government. It is thus all the more dependent on the solidarity and commitment of people interested in art.

Your support – whether through a donation, a gift or a membership – enables us to

• realise exhibitions and educational programmes at a high level,
• preserve the historic garden as well as Emil Nolde’s former residential and studio house on a permanent basis,
• keep art and culture alive for future generations.

Engagement can take many forms:

Friends of the Nolde Foundation Seebüll

The association Friends of the Nolde Foundation Seebüll was founded in 2011 to promote art and culture in close cooperation with the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation. It is aimed at all who feel connected to Nolde’s work and wish to support the foundation’s activities through their engagement.

The circle of friends supports the foundation both ideally and financially and helps preserve Nolde’s residential and studio house and the garden as a vibrant cultural site. Its members benefit from regular information on current projects, invitations to events, and shared activities such as excursions and the annual general meeting.

With a membership in the association Friends of the Nolde Foundation Seebüll, engagement becomes uncomplicated, communal and directly tangible – open to all who wish to support Emil Nolde’s art and its preservation.

Emil Nolde Circle

The Emil Nolde Circle is an exclusive association of art‑affiliated individuals from culture, business and society. Here, people come together who not only appreciate Emil Nolde’s work, but feel a special connection to it. The Circle offers the opportunity to come closer to the foundation, gain behind‑the‑scenes insights, and participate in an intensive exchange about art and culture.

With a membership in the Emil Nolde Circle, you support the work of the foundation both ideally and financially at a special level. Members receive exclusive invitations to previews and special events, access to selected publications, as well as personal information about ongoing projects. In addition, the Circle creates space for encounters with experts, collectors and connoisseurs of Expressionism.

The Emil Nolde Circle combines a high degree of commitment with a first‑class cultural environment – a network for all those who wish to accompany Emil Nolde’s artistic legacy with particular depth.
